Sacrifice is not the point by itself. What makes sacrifice significant is the motive behind it. In Nehemiah, we see a leader and a people who were willing to give, serve, and rebuild because God’s glory was at stake and people’s good was on the line. In the same way, this message invites each of us to lay our lives before the Lord with open hands, trusting that what God does through surrendered hearts will outlast anything we build with brick and mortar. He and His Kingdom are worthy of our all.
